Parents try to do everythiing in their power to steer their children towards success or sometimes push them to accomplish what they never did. Some parents are relentless some don’t push hard enough. But in the end a huge part of how your kids turn out is out of your hands. I guess that’s why being present, love them, set a good example for them and allowing them to fail and learn are so important too. Now if I could only remember that more often myself.
This is the first of some of my new 4 panel comics.
Have a great week.

Amazing work as always, Frank.
This got me to wondering…how often do people aspire to join the circus? Or is that something you’re more likely to do because you’re parents were trapese artists. Mind you, I don’t expect an answer. Not a serious one anyway.

I love this, Frank! I imagine this is what parents hear when we say that we want to be cartoonists!
Good point. Man, I should have used that as my punchline. Why didn’t I thin of that.
For some reason some of the comments from others are not showing up in here. weird.
Yeah, like mine, darn it! You might have some kind of spam folder it could’ve gotten into.
Sweety would rather have her feet in sawdust than her nose in a book, Dad!
Well it probably pays a whole lot better than being a cartoonist!
Sweetie looks somewhat highly strung. Maybe she could do a high wire act. (pun intended)
I sometimes think I’m in the circus as there’s plenty of clowns where I work.
Ha, Tony, that’s what I was thinking when I first saw Sweety. She’d make a great high (strung) wire act!
Great format, Frank.Plus you touched upon a subject other fathers and myself have been discussing. It seems like we have to allow our kids to make mistakes so they’ll learn on their own, because they won’t listen to anything we say to try to save them the trouble.
Whether it’s a circus or not, all it matters is Sweety is happiness… and her awesome glasses
Hello. I agree with you – 100% +. Thank you for the information. Nathan.
So strange and funny gags!
PS Are these all hand drawn?
Thanks. They are all drawn by hand digitally on a Wacom Cintiq using Manga Studio EX software. This allows me to throw down fast lines with a lot of action & still be able to clean up any excess if I need to but sometimes I keep the excess lines in there or just erase what I need to & leaving it whole things messy like comic for Part 2 of Mr’s Clean.
I guess the phrase”by hand” certainly applies to computers these days.
Such great work!
Frank, this is a very honest comic and a good summary of what most kids are going through. Do what makes you happy! That’s the key to success ain’t it?
I think so. The whole point of striving for success is to be “happy” but happiness is not in the future, it is now and it is not a place or a thing you get to and then everything is finally how it should be and your are automatically happy, it is a state of being. Thanks fro the comment.
Four score and seven minutes ago, I read a sweet arictle. Lol thanks
HA! Given how many people with PhD’s are out of work these days you may just be better off at the circus.
I do not ordinarily comment but I gotta say regards to the article on this one.
