This was based on a sketch I did at all places – a coffee shop. I tried to keep this to a 4 panel comic but I have a feeling it would have played better strung out over 6 or 8 panels rather than having the all the dialogue bunched into 2 panels.
I went back and forth on this comic so many times; stopping and starting it again. I think the body language of the guy came out good but the overall comic is so so. Been one of those weeks but you have to get through the not so great stuff to reach the great stuff so it is all good.
I’ll post some quick comics during the week or at least some other cartooning art work.
Have a good week.

I always end up behind this guy at the coffee shop. Nice to see him get his comeuppance. And, as always, terrific job. Isn’t Sumba Dark a wood stain color?
Thanks. Sumba Dark is many things to many people.
Fastastic! These drawings are high art.
She shot him?! No fair. I blame her for having way too many things on the menu. Reminds me of my strip where Michael the Armadillo got shot by his girlfriend for mouthing off.
Thank you. She couldn’t help it – just had a triple shot of Sumba Dark
THANK YOU!
Surprised no one in line shot him first.
Sumba…isn’t that a dance. Too funny.
Only when you drinking it causes you to dance.
Meant to say “Only when drinking it causes you to dance.” I obviously need some right now to help me to type.
Yeah that jive gets really annoying, or the lady that keeps asking or complaining to the checkout person and creates a huge ordeal about some toothpaste or something when your trying to check out so you can just get the hell out of there so you can go home and draw pictures.
Actually, I quite liked this one. I would bet an awful lot of people could relate to it.
Hehe, love this one. As usual, the expressions are just gold. Great work!
I think this strip works out just fine as it is. Stretching it out by even one panel would dilute the joke. I gotta say you are a master at body language, the slow build up of angry frustration on the barista’s face, the indecisive posturing of the customer – its a gem! Also interesting to know about the work you put into these strips, it’s fun to read about what was going through your head.
And I thought baristas were always supposed to be jovial and upbeat? This is how I would operate I fear if I had to work there day in and day out.
She looked a bit grumpy to begin with. I’d like to offer her a job where I work. We have customers like that. The only other annoying thing he didn’t do is answer his phone while she was serving him. Your comics never fail to entertain Frank. Another brilliant work of art.
Went for the head shot?
Very simple and funny, Frank! I know exactly how it also feels to be the person BEHIND these types of people.
