I was originally going to make an animated Newt Gingrich trying to convince Florida voters to vote for him. Unfortunately I started that idea very late in the week and ran into some setbacks. I then tried to work up some similar ideas without animation and eventually came up with what you see here after reading more articles about Gingrich’s ability to knock out ideas left and right but that most of them, although unique, were unpractical and sounded a bit crazy.
My theory is that Newt knows how crazy these ideas are but knows one day they will be possible and that history will look back upon him as the guy who was way ahead of his time. Sort of like a mash up of Benjamin Franklin and Steve Jobs but with a twisted view of liberty.
Lastly – This is my first ANNIVERSARY of this comic. I have learned so much in a one year and meet amazing creative people online inspiring me with their work. Thank you for a great year.

Wow, with all that to offer why wouldn’t you vote for the guy because I’m sure every single one of his ideas/promises will be voted through our super-productive Congress! ;o)
I think congress would rubber stamp this guys ideas if they benefited the 1%… which, knowing Newt they undoubtedly would!
Happy 1st Anniversary, Frank! It’s been great having you around for this past year, and hopefully we’ll get to enjoy your art and stories for plenty more years to come.
I totally want to book my next vacation in Newtville!
Lifetime movie…no way. That has Sci-Fy written all over it.
Happy 1st Anniversary Frank!!!
I love that neck snapping head removal action. And he’s still smiling.
Thanks everyone. I just realized a mistake I made in this. Will have to fix that tonight. Hate when that happens.
Look at the size of that guy’s head! Whoa-ho, great drawings of Gingrich, you’re really biting in to that guy in a good way. It’s fun to see you applying yourself to this sort of thing, you’re a natural at it.
Super Congratulations on your One Year Anniversary, Frank! It’s been so fun taking this online journey with you watching it all come together. Here’s to many more great years of Hansen goodness!
Thank you. That means a lot. A part of me is still trying to find what clicks for me and this type of humor/comic feels right.
All politicians are rather scary, especially when they start believing what they say.
Happy anniversary, Frank! Your art style is very neat!
Happy Big 1st!
…I’m just surprised that ANY woman would marry ol’ Newt.
