This was inspired by a story I read today about Google Labs getting a computer to learn what a cat is without the computer being programed to know what a cat is.
Supposedly the Google engineers networked 16,000 computers and fed them random thumbnail images, each one extracted from 10 million videos on YouTube. The computer basically invented the concept of a cat
Although I’m making fun of it I must admit I am fascinated by it at the same time. By the way “Felis silvestris catus” is the scientific name for cats
Here is one article about it from Business Insider.

All the bot needs to do is join Google Plus and his stream will be filled with cats
But how many computers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
“Danger! Danger! Will Robinson.” Or ‘Cat’ Robinson. Run!
Weird story…cool, but still creepy.
Oh and fantastic artwork as always Mr. Hansen!
that is absolutely fascinating, this is the first I’ve heard of this from your comic. Wonder if computers will ever be as smart or replace humans?
