I usually steer clear of politics in my cartoons, but I came up with this idea and liked enough to do it. The original caption was different and I thought of letting the readers suggest their own captions, but then I thought no, I need to caption this and not chicken out.
Although I will be voting for Obama, I do not see huge difference between these two guys. Yes, there is a huge difference between the people voting for them but between the two gentlemen themselves, in policy, not much difference. Romney is playing the conservative to win the election but he’s pretty moderate compared to the folks who were trying to win the GOP nomination. It’s fascinating to watch someone try so hard to be liked just to be elected. That is one thing that Obama does not seem to do . I’m sure he does from time to time, but it but it never shows.
I went over the caricatures again and again, and they are still not perfect, but overall I think the art work came out good and joke reads the way I intended it to. That is success to me.
