This is sorta Techie but Microsoft Windows is rolling out the beta version of its new Windows 8 OS and it is getting a lot of buzz. It might just be the thing that brings Windows back into the minds of a lot of people that had written it off, if it works as smoothly across desktops, tablets and phones as they are saying. But it has been so long since Windows had anything exciting that I wonder if a small generation even know what Windows is.

The new modern family. Having some fun with this but there is a part of this that is real and sort of sad. We all seem to be connecting to everyone except the ones that are physically around us. I’m guilty of this too sometimes. All the best, Frank
The sad truth about the death of traditional printed newspapers is real although I joke about it here. I think some print will stick around for a long time but the speed at which most are going away now is staggering. The flood gates have opened. This is a tough transition for so many including cartoonist but I know at one point this will shake out and payment for quality cartoon work and journalism will emerge.
Take care, Frank
I was looking over the news this morning, trying to get some ideas for a few cartoons and came across the news story that ex-VP Dick Cheney was recovering from a heart transplant. You could say the idea came to me in a heartbeat and it was too good to pass up.
I hope no one minds a little humor at the ex-VP expense. Have a good week.

See what LA can do. Even the dogs in lA are not immuned to chasing the dream of show biz.
Thought it was funny to take the personal struggle that so many of us have about finding our true calling in life and our aspirations and longing to not be ordinary and apply them to something that is just happy to be alive and never second guesses or thinks about why they are here on earth because they are too busy actually living life right now. We could learn a lot from dogs.
I’m making the trek to Toronto this year for the best indie comic convention around as many people have called it TCAF – Toronto Comics Arts Festival on May 5th & 6th.
I will have a table selling books with printed comics from Animatic Press plus prints of my design/fine art work and meeting lots of great people and having a great weekend.
If you do not believe me about the greatness of this convention just look at their line up of guest and artist who are tableling there. I am lucky to part of it. GUEST EXHIBITORS.
Please note – I did not create this wonderful poster for TCAF.
What can I say, I was inspired by a recent visit with my tax accountant.
And no you can not claim your pets as dependents on your taxes although some congressman have proposed bills that would allow you to write off pet expenses. Not sure how I feel about that. Have to think about it more.
Have a great week,
Frank
I went over the dialogue/punchline of this cartoon many many times. Still not sure this is the best. The nice thing is that the drawing turned out the way I envisioned it.
The other thing is that this type of thing (skypeing in dinner guest) probably happens more and more and will continue which sort of ruins the joke or perhaps there is a better joke in there somewhere.
Have a nice week,
Frank
I saw the Lorax Movie tonight and I have to say it was incredibly disappointing. I was surprised how bad it was. It did look amazing and some of the animation was great but the story fell prety short. Easy come easy go I guess.
This thing that I drew is actually for another project I’m working on.
Another Bonus cartoon.
My wife was watching “Millionaire Matchmaker” and I could not resist this joke. There are some really whacked people on that show.
